The Amélie team is delighted to announce the grand opening of its newest location in the vibrant Logan Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC, scheduled for June 15th, 2024. Founded by owners Germain Michel and Samie Didda, this expansion further solidifies Amélie's presence as a leader in delivering an extraordinary wine and contemporary French dining experience.

Anthony Lemortellec, an alumnus of the prestigious Alain Ducasse in Paris, leads the team at Amélie DC. He will serve as the executive chef, overseeing the management and design of the food program.

Eric Kole, a native of Washington, DC, brings his local expertise to the general manager role. Olivier Filograsso, our wine director, will curate an outstanding selection of wines for guests to savor, drawing from his extensive knowledge and experience in the industry.

Since its establishment in 2006 by Samie Didda and Germain Michel, Amélie has been on a journey of expansion and success. The first Amelie was introduced in San Francisco, followed by successful expansions to New York in 2012, with locations in the West Village and Upper West Side (2017). In subsequent years, Amelie broadened its horizons and introduced a new French Bakery and wine bar concept in Fairfax, Marin County, California. Amelie's exceptional offerings and inviting atmosphere have been recognized by esteemed publications such as the Michelin Guide, Forbes, the New York Times, and the San Francisco Chronicle, further cementing our position as a top destination for wine and culinary enthusiasts.

Situated in the bustling heart of Logan Circle, Amélie-DC, it provides a welcoming atmosphere with a seating capacity of 80 and an additional 25 seats at the bar to accommodate a wide range of preferences. The wine list stands out with 75 carefully selected wines available by the glass, emphasizing small French wineries renowned for producing biodynamic wines. Enhancing the exceptional wine offerings is an extensive cocktail list featuring renowned French aperitifs such as Lillet, Pastis, Suze, and Dubonnet, ensuring a delightful experience for every guest. A dedicated bar offers a unique pastis service, adding an extra touch of allure to the experience. For those seeking non-alcoholic options, Amelie provides a diverse array of alcohol-free wines and cocktails, catering to various tastes and preferences.

The establishment will initially open for dinner daily, introduce weekend brunch, and begin offering lunch service starting in September.
